Disagree. All the changes in cfball will cause many to tap out.
The cost of doin business just went up in a major way. And the haves are separating themselves from the have nots more so than ever. I'm saddened to see that VT is likely no longer considered one of the haves. SEC schools or B1G schools can come a take about any coach they want away from us. Heck, they nearly took Bud Foster from us and he's a guy who has every reason in the world to stay at VT. If Fuente is another Frank Beamer, I'm not so sure VT will be able to fend off the offers many schools would be able to throw his way.
Even a program like VT is struggling. How bad are things hurting at ECU? Will ECU want to be a part of this new thing? What about Wake or BC?
I could see some minimum attendence and dollar figures being used to create this new league.
Some never gonna happen things have indeed happened in college football in recent years, and I feel those things are pointing us toward a 4 megaconference model. The ACC and Big12 have just been hanging on enough to see who the number 4 is. The ACC seems to have the upper hand right now.
